Pets in the City

With the average size of house blocks in Australia decreasing and the number of strata developments increasing, Australian pet owners are now frequently keeping their animal companions in smaller spaces, sometimes with little or no outdoor area.

To help people successfully manage dogs and cats in apartments and inner-urban areas the Petcare Information and Advisory Service (PIAS) has developed Pets in the City, a non-commercial guide available at no cost from www.petsinthecity.net.au.

The Pets in the City website provides practical information to help city-dwellers make informed decisions about dog and cat ownership, including information on selecting a pet; how to negotiate rental and strata issues; downsizing with a pet; caring for a pet with limited or no outdoor space; and general tips on dog and cat care.

Pets in the City will help all pet owners, wherever they live, to enjoy the love and companionship a pet brings to our lives.

Animal adventures on your doorstep

Tangalooma Island Resort, in the heart of Moreton Bay marine and national parks, is surrounded by crystal clear waters and sub-tropical rainforest. Only a short cruise from Brisbane, adventure seekers, or those who prefer nature-based experiences, can find everything they are looking for.

The highlight of any stay at Tangalooma is the opportunity to interact closely with the marine wildlife of Moreton Bay. Each evening, a pod of wild bottlenose dolphins eagerly swim up to the beach where they are hand fed by our Dolphin Care Team and resort guests. Whether you are feeding the dolphins or simply watching from the jetty, the experience is truly unforgettable.

From June through to October, visitors can partake in the resorts Whale Watching Cruise. Board Tangalooma's catamaran to see these majestic humpback whales in their natural environment as part of the awe-inspiring day tour.

The Marine Discovery Cruise takes guests on a journey south along the western coastline of Moreton Island in search for dugongs, dolphins, turtles, rays and birdlife.

Tangalooma's high-speed catamarans depart daily from Brisbane's Holt Street Wharf at Pinkenba. The wharf is a 15-minute drive from the CBD and 10 minutes from Brisbane Airport.

You haven't experienced Brisbane until you've experienced Tangalooma!
